Today IO Interactive has announced the release date for Hitman HD Enhanced Collection which will be a compilation of Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution remastered in 4K. It will release on January 11, 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Hitman has been a key player in the stealth video game genre ever since its release. Things really picked up after the release of Hitman: Silent Assassin which was rated one of the top games of the franchise earning at least a rating of 84.65 across all major game critic platforms and selling more than 3.7 million copies as of April 2009.
Hitman: Blood Money
Hitman: Blood Money was another critically acclaimed game for Eidos selling more than 2.1 million copies (as of 2011). Blood Money introduced us to a variety of new features of the Hitman franchise such as using an NPC as a human shield, the ability to hide bodies in containers, ability to upgrade weapons and a new game engine all of which are quite common in the Hitman game’s we see now.
Although Hitman: Absolution received mixed reviews while being drowned in controversies due to IO’s marketing methods, it did pretty good in sales with 3.6 million copies being sold in less than 4 months.
Hitman HD Enhanced Edition can be played in 4K resolution and 60 fps, including many other improvements, some of which are mentioned below.
- 4K visuals at 60 frames per second
