Speculation Over The Last of Us Part 2 Release Date

Naughty Dog and Sony have long been silent over the release date of The Last of Us Part 2 but former Editor of IGN confirms the game is due to come out this year. It’s a bit hard to speculate what is going on at Sony given that they missed a key event last year, the PlayStation Experience and now it has pulled out of E3 2019. The statement they gave on the purpose for pulling out of E3 2019 was as below.

“As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community. PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you.

Are we going to witness the announcement of the heavily anticipated PlayStation 5? I think not but then again, Sony has never pulled out of an E3 event so surely they are up to something. On the other hand, Naughty Dog has been quite tight lipped about the upcoming horror survival The Last of Us Part 2 with Neil Druckmann sharing an onset picture from the shooting of the game.

Last week former IGN Editor now turned content creator for Funhaus, Alanah Pearce said she is 100% certain that the game will be coming out in 2019. Pearce’s tweets were captured via screenshot when she was engaged in a discussion on Twitter and at one point she said “TLOU2 100% has” when being asked if the game is due to come out this year. She also said that she’s “been told multiple times by multiple people” about the game’s 2019 release date.

Alanah was not aware that her tweets would go viral and get picked up by media outlets but once it did they were quickly deleted. You should note that Alanah is not employed by either Naughty Dog nor Sony but she has proven herself to be a credible source over the years.

The Last of Us (2013) is a game that I play even today and I was absolutely delighted to see the sequel’s teaser back in 2016. I have even saved by $100 which I never touch just for the game’s Special Edition (if it turns out having one) What do you think about the first game? let me know in the comments below.
